Tips for Mother's Day: 1. Order early! - all our boxes are packed and wrapped by hand, and we may not be able to process your order if you leave it until the last minute! 2. We recommend you ask us to post your order on the 14th March if you use First Class post. If you prefer our Saturday Guaranteed service, you should select Fri 16th March. Note that we do not recommend selecting "Next Working day" service for Mother's day.

Did you Know... "Mothering Sunday" in the UK was originally a church festival, on the 4th Sunday of Lent, which honoured Mary, the mother of Jesus. The idea was later expanded and became a holiday for apprentices and domestic servants to visit their mothers and family. Often, they would take a special fruit cake (a "simnel" cake) as a gift. The practice died out during the 19th century, but Mother's Day started to be celebrated again during World War II due to the influence of American troops, who brought their tradition of giving cards and gifts on Mother's day to the UK.
